Closing the Loop brings life cycle assessment, circular design practice, and the emerging data infrastructure for circularity together for one day. Researchers, designers, students, and industry take turns: Empa opens with what LCA actually shows about whether circular is more sustainable, SOLVE Studio and students from Albstadt-Sigmaringen University follow with how circular collections are made, worn, and kept in use, and the afternoon turns to the Digital Product Passport, including the regulation and standards and real industrial roll-outs. A closing panel with the audience takes on the sustainability and globalization conundrum.

Garments are shown and talked through by the people who made and wear them, so expect the day to move between talks, exhibits, and open discussion rather than a straight lecture programme. Closing the Loop is part of Circular Lab, the cross-border research initiative for a sustainable circular economy in the Lake Constance region, spanning textiles and agri-food.
